ZEISS and CIB organized workshop in advanced imaging
During July and August 2024, we enhanced our collaboration with ZEISS company, the specialists in microscopy. RNDr. Veronika Huntošová, PhD. from Center for Interdisciplinary Biosciences (CIB) and ZEISS organized workshop in advanced imaging with demonstration of modern LSM 900 microscope with Airyscan 2 detector for multiplexing super-resolution and higher sensitivity in sample scanning.
We have applied this high-end confocal imaging in a small footprint to improve our experiments related to implementation of prof. Erik Sedlák’s APVV-20-0340 project dedicated to characterisation of genetically encoded photosensitizers in cancer cells.
Super-resolution and speed with Airyscan 2 enabled us to identify cellular contacts and intra-organelle interaction in 2D and 3D model of breast cancer cells within implementation of Dr. Veronika Huntošová’s project BCOrgFluorIDA of Fellowships for excellent researchers R3 code 09I03-03-V04-00007 as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan for Slovakia supported by European Union Plan.
Our students had the opportunity to test with the super-resolution new modular anticancer nanoparticles delivered into glioblastoma cells that were developed as part of our bilateral APVV project MO3 between SLOVAKIA and AUSTRIA: SK-AT-23-0001.
Here, we would like to thank the ZEISS Slovakia team, especially RNDr. Peter Letovanec, for their support and the opportunity to test this excellent imaging system.
